Golden Gobi and Eagle Festival

The word Mongolia often stirs up an image of ancient warriors on horseback to many. And plenty think that Mongolia is all about horses and wide steppe – well, true to some extent as the Mongols have more than 3 million horses and the country is the 19th largest country by territory. However, Mongolia is a lot more than that – globetrotters are mesmerized by the diverse natural and cultural wonders that Mongolia has to offer.

This extraordinary discovery journey will guide you though the best of Gobi Desert in the Southern Mongolia, majestic Altai region in the Western Mongolia as well as the essential sights and cultural performances in/around capital city Ulaanbaatar.

First the journey takes you to the mysterious Gobi Desert – Bayanzag Flaming Cliffs and explore for dinosaur remains, enjoy a sunset camel ride at the Khongor sand dunes and oasis, and hike in the glacial Yoliin Am Gorge with glimpses of rare wildlife. And on the last part of the journey, you will meet the fabled Kazakh Eagle hunters, stay with them for 1 full day to learn more about their culture in depth, and attend the 2-day annual Altai Eagle Festival in the Altai Mountains. Prepare your camera and batteries well as Mongolia’s a super photogenic country.

Plus, travelling extensively in remote Mongolia and discovering the wonders doesn’t mean rough travel conditions all the time.
